Wendy Taylor (nee
Pitt) is a well-known and proud Graftonian having worked for
several years in the retail industry at Mackellys and more
recently at Noni-B who nominated her for the role of Matron of
Honour. Having recently retired from work, Wendy hopes she will
be able to pass on to the five candidates some of the people
skills she has learned over the years and help them to get all
that they want out of participating.
"I think the Jacaranda Festival is a beautiful time to promote
the area because everybody comes together. I have taken part in
the Festival since I was a girl, and I dressed up every
Jacaranda Thursday and got into the spirit of it.
My sister Beverley was a Jacaranda Queen Candidate in 1957 and
then my older sister Suzette was crowned Jacaranda Queen in
1960. Seeing them be involved and how much they enjoyed their
candidacy makes me even more excited to be matron.
I consider it an honour to be chosen as Jacaranda Festival
Matron".
