This year twelve
vibrant young ladies are participating for the title of Junior
Jacaranda Queen and Junior Jacaranda Princess, to be announced
at the Queen Crowning Ceremony in Market Square on Saturday 29
October.
Throughout the
year the candidates have been involved in a number of functions,
raffles and fundraisers organised by the Festival Committee.
Money raised assists the Festival Committee to pay for next
year's Festival.
Along the way, the girls develop skills in public speaking,
etiquette, deportment and social skills. As well as fundraising,
all candidates are secretly judged at the events they attend.
The Junior Queen
Quest candidates receive encouragement from the Senior
Candidates through their buddy system/mentorship program. For
each young lady the Junior Jacaranda Quest is an opportunity to
grow as a person. Each candidate takes from it something
different and something to stay with them for a lifetime.
Thank you to all
the local businesses that have supported the Junior Quest in
2011, the candidates, their family and friends, and the local
community for their attendance at functions.
The 2011 Junior Jacaranda Queen and Princess will each be
rewarded with a holiday courtesy of
Novotel Pacific Bay Resort, Coffs Harbour.
