Jacaranda Queen Candidates
At the beginning of each year, young women living in the
Clarence Valley are invited to enter as Jacaranda Queen
Candidates sponsored by local businesses.
Titles to be aspired to are Jacaranda Queen and Jacaranda
Princess with the Jacaranda Holiday Princess title awarded
to the candidate who raises the most money for the Jacaranda
Festival.
In an experience of a lifetime, life skills are honed and
friendships are forged. Candidates are judged on community
spirit, formal etiquette, deportment and public speaking.
The Jacaranda Festival operates as a self-funded not for
profit community organisation from the funds raised by Queen
Candidates. It is an opportunity for young Clarence Valley
residents to give something back to their community, get
involved and reap rewards that will last a lifetime.
To be eligible, Jacaranda Queen Candidates must have lived
in the Clarence Valley for a minimum of 12 months on the
nomination closing date and be aged minimum 18 years to
maximum 29 years on the date of the Queen Crowning ceremony
which is traditionally held on the last Saturday in October.
Married people are eligible to enter.
Junior Jacaranda Queen Candidates must be aged between 12
and 14 years at the time of nomination and judging and must
have lived in the Clarence Valley for a minimum of 12 months
prior to the nomination closing date.
