Rock & Retro Spectacular

It's Grease meets Cars in a Junior Jacaranda Queen Fundraiser. There will be Rock N' Roll dancers, band and plenty of Hot Rods on display.

From 1pm at I Scream, 91 Prince Street, Grafton (near the Clocktower).

Wine Tasting Event

Fund raising Event for Queen Candidate Kirrily Tough

Held in the Hidden Oasis of 17 Hewitt Street Grafton.

Tickets are $15, available from Country Hospitality Services Suite 3, 81 Victoria Street, Grafton.

Snacks will be provided. It is strictly a 18+ event and tickets will not be available at the door.

Annual Jacaranda Fashion Parade

This is the annual Fashion Parade with several local fashion houses and retailers showing the latest fashions and styles.

The show is on from 6:30pm at the South Ex Services club South Grafton.

Gateway Village Residents Jacaranda Market/Fete Day

Held in the Lillypond Centre at the Gateway Village, 598 Summerland Way Grafton. Starts at 8am and finishes at 2pm. Parking available in the park. Follow the signs. Enquiries to Irene 6642 2387.

 

The Daily Examiner Parade of Youth & Banner Competition

Starting at the Civic Centre at 9am, parade along Prince Street to Market Square.

Jacaranda Exhibition Gardens on display

As the Jacarandas bloom and drop their purple carpet on the streets of Grafton, the Open Gardens put on a colourful display of their own, for visitors and locals alike. We invite you to take a walk through our tropical gardens and sit and relax a while. There are floral gardens, country gardens and also an old fashioned cottage garden to view. Entry is by gold coin donation.

The Grafton Garden Club will hold a plant sale at Secret Hideaway, a tropical garden setting where you can also purchase cold drinks and morning and afternoon tea. Buses welcome to visit all gardens.

Jacaranda Queen Crowning Ceremony

In the evening the Junior Jacaranda Queen & Princess crowned then the judging of the 2009 Jacaranda Queen, Princess and Highest Fund-Raiser - Market Square. Starts 6.30pm.

They've dressed and put on a show, now it's time to see who the winner is.

Final judging on stage at Market Square commencing at 12 noon.

Jacaranda Talent Quest

in Market Square. Bring a rug along and listen to live, local talent from 1pm to 6pm. Performers include line dancers, bush poets, ABBA tribute, local youth band and much, much more.

Celebration of Wooden Boats

The day will be a "Meet & Greet" for exhibitors, including an on the water sail/ flotilla to a local pub for lunch, then onwards to Memorial park in Grafton for the Venetian Carnival.

Saturday 6th November is public viewing of the boats from 8am, with Corcoran Park off Kirchner Street being the venue currently proposed.

Venetian Carnival

Held on the banks of the Clarence River.  The flotilla of boats participating in the Celebration of Wooden Boats will be on the river behind the stage.

This exciting night features the Clarence Valley Council's Fireworks Displays.

The Grafton TAFE Annual Jacaranda Festival Market Day

Over 120 market stalls with food, entertainment and displays, a ham wheel, library book sale and a kids play area with jumping castle, merry go round, mini jeeps, fairy floss, snow cones and more.

The student association fundraiser also has great prizes to be won.

Jacaranda Cylce Criterium

Prince Street, adjacent to Clock Tower. Fast paced cycling action in the three graded races and junior event.

Celtic Entertainment

Come and enjoy the stirring music of local and regional Pipe Bands in Market Square. There will be talented Scottish Country, Irish & Highland dancers performing as well.

Grand Float Procession

Watch the colourful and creative floats on parade as they make their way down Prince Street. Pipe bands will be marching, various local schools and businesses performing on their decorated floats, vintage car and motorcycle groups and much, much more.

Market Square. Many sections and excellent prizes. Starts at 8.30am.

Jacaranda Festival Fun Run

Taking place at Caramana Park, Rogan Bridge Rd, Waterview Heights, the Jacaranda Fun Run is back again in 2010.

The day starts at 8am with a 2km run aimed at families and young children, run at and around Caramana Park. The 5km and 10km races start together after the 2km (approx 8.30 a.m.) and follow a 5km circuit taking in the Caramana Park, Caramana Drive, Kingfisher Place, Swan Drive and a short cross country section. The 10km follows the same circuit and then heads out into cattle country along Friars Lane.

Entry fees are 2km - $2, 5km - $5, 10km - $10. On the day registration from 7.00 a.m. at Caramana Park. Postal entries are welcome. Refreshments on sale. Trophies to outright winners and medallions to all age category winners. Lots of spot prizes to lucky participants.

RUNNERS AND WALKERS OF ANY ABILITY ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS FUN EVENT.
